Top Ten - China
May 10, 2018As I quickly approach a year of travelling I thought it would be the perfect time to look back on what has probably been the best year of my life, by creating a top ten album of each of the 11 countries I’ve been lucky enough to visit.
I’ve decided to start off easy with China, a country that I only visited for four days, and only in the city of Shenzhen. The city was super modern with extremely interesting architecture and with a lot more money than I had experienced in the first six months of my journey through South East Asia (Singapore and Hong Kong aside). Thanks to the wonders of the internet I was able to meet up with a few expats that I forced to show me the best beer and coffee spots, and who dragged me out to some very interesting clubs with moving dancefloors and ludicrous music. One of the better experiences of the city was walking through the Shenzhen People’s Park littered with old Chinese people playing ping pong, cards or simply doing group exercises, it was a uniquely Asian experience that I was thoroughly enjoyed, even after losing horrendously in Ping Pong.
China was definitely an intriguing place to visit, and as I’m sure I barely scratched the surface I’ll be back to experience more.
